Welcome

My name is Scott McDonald. I was born and grew up in Hall county. In 1994 I started attending Lanier Technical College in Oakwood. In 1995 I received a diploma in Machine Tool Technology as a Machinist. I got my second diploma in 1996 for Advanced Machine Tool Technology - CNC Specialist. In 1997, I purchased my first home.  In 2004 I sold my first house and developed my second house in Forsyth county. After the sale of my first home and the development of my second home, I considered going into the field of Real Estate sales. I decided to go to pre-license school. I passed my class exam on the first try and also passed the GA state exam on the first try. In 2006 I received my Real Estate Salesperson License. I am a Realtor® within the 400 North Board of Realtors®. I have currently completed a course in finance and settlement procedures.

While being a machinist I learned alot about close tolerances, attention to detail, craftsmanship, and good workmanship. I haved learned several forms of machining.

When I first got started, I was employed at Whitehead Die Casting Company. I went through an apprenticeship program over 4 years to become a Tool and Die Maker. I got familiar with aluminum and zinc die casting. I worked with die casting machines, which took liquid aluminium or zinc, injected it into a die, then out comes a solidified part. It is a truly amazing process. I worked on the dies for repair and also made new dies to cast new parts. Most of the work was done on manual milling machines, like a Bridgeport. The final steps usually required hand fitting or hand work.

After about 4 years, I decided to pursue a different aspect of machining by utilizing my CNC diploma. CNC stands for Computer Numerical Control. The machine functions like a manual machine, but all the axis movement is controlled by servo motors and a computer control. You have a program it runs for each different part that usually consists of several operations, using different types of tools. In order to program a machine, you must be able to look at a set of blueprints and imagine how the part will be created. This takes an object from two dimensions to three. You must look at the whole process at one time, then must decide step-by-step how it will be done. This takes a great deal abstact and methodical thinking. I got to a point to where I was making custom Hummer parts. Here are some sample pictures.

These are Front Vents, Rear Louvers, Gas Door, and Grenade Shifter for a H2 Hummer.

This is work of good craftsmanship. I incorporate it into everything I do. I believe in attention to detail. I believe in good quality and durability. I believe that anything worth doing, is worth doing right, the first time. If you are looking for an agent with true attention to detail, look no further.
